I got it and actually like it better then rFactor or any of the stockcar mods for rFactor. It is all about stockcar. The UI layout, function ability and features of the UI is the best I have seen in any past stockcar pc platforms. Very good admin controls in game as well for online racing and serving. The stockcar rules also seem to be working properly in ASR. Plenty of online action. I got it on Wednesday and haven't stopped racing online yet. Almost time to change the ole fart filter. A pleasure to actually kick back and just race knowing that you finally are behind the wheel of a new stockcar platform that actually is good. Anyone else?

| I have not gotten it yet. I have looked at a video from a guy I used to race with and it looked pretty good. |

Ive been eyeballing it since it's beginning. I know a couple ARCA drivers, one of which had a chance to beta it early on and he seemed to like it.
Im put off by their unwillingness to release a demo so you can actually try it out though. In the age of $50 games I have been burned a few times with games that certainly didnt live up to the hype.
So, ive been waiting on other folks to try it out and then average out all the opinions and go from there. Yours carries alot of weight with me because of this mod you created that i have enjoyed so much so ill be watching you in particular, Joe :) |

| Well, I was getting ready to order it and then read about people having problems with SATA DVD drives. Since my system has two DVD drives and both are connected using SATA cables, I think I will hold off until I hear they have solved this problem. I am not going to buy a new drive and hook up a different way just so I can run the disc. |

Well, i recieved ARCA Sim Racing today. To be honest, it looks like an rfactor mod. Only one kind of car (hence the name ARCA. lolol). I really like the cot cars myself. Doesnt seem worth the $$ if you already have rfactor. Not very many tracks (yet. more to come, from what ive been reading). On the positive side, it looks beter than most mods ive seen. The car crashes seem more solid and the movement of the action is real fluid. Basicly, everything you get from rfactor, but one kind of car and seems to look a bit better. Over all, id say a real nice game. But, that much $$ and all you get are ARCA cars???? I think they should have had a more generic name and added Bush and cup (just my thoughts).

| Id say that with them locking it down tighter than dick's hat band code-wise, they are probably planning for expansion at some point. i watched youtube videos of it when i could finally find some and it does pretty much look like rFactor from what i could tell...even the tire marks left on the walls :) |

It will look like rFactor because it is the same game/gfx engine as rFactor just stripped and re coded for stockcars only which in my opinion is the best thing about it. There is more then one car make. There are Chevy, Dodge, Ford, Pontiac and Toyota. The cars are all cars that at some point was raced in a NASCAR Winston or Nextel cup season. It has real physics data from the real ARCA series which I am sure is way more information then any free modding team will get. It is better then rFactor if what you are looking for is an official (nothing but) stockcar platform backed by a real world stockcar organization. It is officially sanctioned software for the ARCA/ReMax Stockcar series so why would you expect to get anything shipped with the product other then the ARCA cars? Did Papyrus ship NR2003 with anything other then the NASCARS or did EA Sports ship NSR with anything other then what is in those real series? There will be the COT body style added to the ARCA series sooner or later being ARCA gets all their race cars from left over NASCAR seasons. I am also informed that they will be implementing the COT into ASR when the real world series does so. ASR COT is already on the plate amongst other series which will be added by the software development team and not third party modders (another plus). Also ASR is way more tailored for the online racing leagues then rFactor is. When it comes to the ASR league admin tools things such as, live stats for league websites viewing of who might be on the track or if the server is empty, points standings (per event and all to be saved)sent directly to a online race site automatically by the sim software and the game server.
In short.. I beg to differ that ASR is not better for stockcars then rFactor is even if you already have rFactor. |

Just got mine last night, had some tech difficulties, but Texashawk hooked me up. A++ customer service, but it helps to have them all on IM:) I am hoping to spend some time with it this week, but so far I like what I see. Eventhough we were once kinda of competing there at first, I am very proud of what they have done and want the best for SRF.
