I have had a blast racing with you guys and I'm wondering if your racing from the "seat" or another view? I feel that a "sim" driver should be driving from the seat, but I know that there isn't a rule about it. I'm NOT calling for any rule changes but rather just interested where you guys race from "view" wise.George

I was a fan of the chase view in NR2003 because the cockpit was horrible. I ran in leagues that forced cockpit and had no problems, even though I perfered the chase view. In rFactor, I think the cockpit is much better and have not even attempted the chase view. I think it should be locked to cockpit. IMO.

I have always ran cockpit view. Even in the Papyrus sims. Always wanted it as realistic as possible. I tried the external view one time in N4 just for to see how it was and I couldn't get a handle on what the car was doing.

BLAH! You aint sim racing if you aint driving from the cockpit. How often do ya see a real driver sitting up on the roof or on the front bumper or running behind the car? |

I switch back and forth. I prefer cockpit on fast tracks where the cars are spread out a bit, and 3rd person on shoter tracks like marty, just makes it easier to see around the entire car. Also, cockpit view is a must on road tracks (aleast for me). I would use cockpit view all thetime if i had a real seat and custom stand for my wheel and pedals (right now the top of my wheel is level with my chin, and cockpit view just dont feel right if its not set up correctly).

I have an ECCI 6000 with a clutch pedal. I use it sometimes but more often than not I don't. Learned long ago that with auto clutch, you are faster coming up through the gears than when you use the clutch.
