low 29's to high 28's consistant, my best is around 28.2xx.

My front right is getting cooked no matter how i drive it or set the camber, any ideas?

Also, turn one is killing me, is it high in low out or visa-versa?

I ran a race with 43 AI cars and they can turn 26.2xx and can stay at the bottom around all turns, is this possible, or is the AI just crazy fast?

Thanks
Scott (aka o2rustyw02)

Ran a 27.2xx a little bit ago, but I know it can improve.

For realism sake, the pole sitter for last year's Spring Phoenix race ran a 27.040.

4/9/08
400 laps
best 27.112
average 27's for 8 to 10 laps 28's for another 10 laps and a whole lot of low 29's. Right front is gonna get cooked no matter what, tires and how you manage them will be key to a good finish.

I have to worry that this is going to be another crash-fiesta. With how quickly the right side tires start to get hot and slick, even experienced drivers will have a hard time.

Just ran a 26.9xx btw.

I have someone working on a new Tire file for phoenix to address the temps getting to high. I will get this to all as soon as I receive it.

Appreciate the tire temp fix, however, the feel/grip is still off, it fixed the numbers we see but the car still does not respond to chassis changes like it should. Car is tight in and loose off even with drastic changes. goes from loose to tight very easy. Very hard to get a neutral setup, am worried people will go for speed which will create cautions. Many NASCAR teams take their Marty car to Phoenix or vesa versa... If your tire physics guy could take the NSS mary tire physics and add a very little tire temp and reduce a tiny bit of grip we would be there. I personally would sacrifice accurate lap times a bit for feel/clean racing. Just M.O. appreciate it and will race what I need too, so please don't take this as negative.

Its all good. The update is from John over at FMS the same fellow that did the physics for NSS. I haven't gotten a chance to test it yet myself. But as a side not, I can't remember so far how many times I have herd DW or one of the drivers refer to how quick the cot can/will go from tight to loose as a goose in an instance. If this is how the NSS is doing now I like that idea myself as long as it is a reality thing. If that's how it feels in real life I like to stick with what's as close to what the real guys have as we can. For the speed times, if we are at the real cup speeds again I also like that. I like to sim race because it is fun to do but also at the same time if its not remotely close to how it is in real life for me that takes away most of the fun. Part of my fun is wandering if I could actually race one of these cars because I am used to the simulation for it. If it is not simulation there goes at least 3/4 of the fun on my side. I also like to be serious enough about it to race for points position and know that the mod is set up to be as close to its real counter part as it can be rather then purposely set up for good clean fun racing all the time. I'm not saying that the tire update we got for phoenix is 100% accurate but only that your description of what is going on seems accurate. On that not Steve, you are still more then welcome to hook us up with a tire file update for phoenix that you believe to be more accurate. SeeYa! Joe B.

I hate last minute updates as do most of you guys. But I wanted to let you all know that I sent Joe a newer updated tire just hours ago. The update posted at FMS this week we used in our race tonight was a step in the right direction, but not nearly enough. Our race was ugly and easily the worst of the season. Also lap times at Nascar.com showed they have picked up over a 1/2 sec from last years COT race. So besides lowering the right side heat and wear even more, I also put some grip back in the tire.

You guys by no means have to use it or Joe may not want to change on you lat minute. But if he does, be very thankful and roll with it for this week. I got caught up with the new multi-groove Texas and Charlotte tires and was also working on updates for Darlington and Richmond ( for final version) and just dropped the ball on Phoenix. Very sorry guys!

its okay, the new tire is good i think. Fast, but if you push it too hard it will get hot. i ran a 27.8 at fastest but only for one lap in race trim, not much time into setup at all either.

No problem at all John. Yes we are using the tire fix you sent. I/We appreciate you hooking us up. Keep us in mind when ever you do a change for the better of the mod. Thanks bro!.. Joe B.

Oh.. My lap times seem to be pretty consistent around 28.327 sec.

Keep in mind that on race day you will need to use the one that was sent in the last email for no server mismatches.

Incase anyone is not sure that they have the correct file here is a link to get it. This is the same one that was sent out in the last phoenix tire update email.
